Financial Advisor (W-2) | Houston, TX

This opportunity is with a national fiduciary wealth management firm that partners with financial institutions to design, implement, and scale comprehensive advisory platforms. The firm has a long, proven track record of successful institutional implementations, supporting advisors with leadership, compliance, technology, and operations—so advisors can focus on delivering advice.

We are seeking an experienced W-2 Financial Advisor to help build and expand an advisory platform within a $1.2B financial institution in the Houston market.

This role is ideal for an advisor who understands holistic financial planning, enjoys working directly with clients, and wants salary, benefits, and full institutional support—even if they do not have a portable book of business.

 

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

  • Base salary (~$60K) + commissions + full benefits
  • W-2 employee advisor role
  • Existing ~$5MM brokerage book already in place
  • Ongoing referrals from the institution
  • Open-architecture, fiduciary environment (not proprietary)
  • Full administrative, compliance, and operational support

The mandate is clear: build a modern, planning-led advisory program, including investment management, holistic planning, and risk management implementation.

 

THE ROLE
You’ll be embedded within a financial institution environment and work directly with members to:

  • Deliver comprehensive, fiduciary financial planning
  • Transition and deepen existing brokerage relationships
  • Implement investment, retirement, and risk strategies
  • Serve mass affluent and higher-net-worth households
  • Collaborate with branch teams on education and referrals

This is a growth role, not a cold start. Clients, infrastructure, and leadership support are already in place.

 

PLANNING + IMPLEMENTATION ON AN OPEN PLATFORM
Advisors operate on a true open-architecture platform, allowing them to:

  • Utilize leading independent custodians
  • Access institutional-grade portfolio management and CRM technology
  • Deliver integrated planning, investment, and risk management solutions

The focus is fiduciary advice—what’s best for the client, not product sales.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 2+ years of client-facing advisory experience
  • Strong planning mindset with implementation expertise
  • Comfortable working with referrals and existing relationships
  • CFP® preferred (financial support provided if not yet obtained)
  • Bilingual advisor strongly preferred
  • Series 7 & 66 required
